COVID-19...New Restrictions

COVID-19 (coronavirus)

In light of new restrictions outlined by the NI Executive on 14 October 2020, we have had to make some adjustments to how we deliver our programme. The following will therefore apply from Friday 16 October - Thursday 12 November inclusive.

Individual Training (Gym and Swimming) can still take place with no restrictions

    • Cardio and Fitness Gym sessions at PEC and BT1
    • Strength and Conditioning Free Weights sessions
    • Swimming sessions
  • W/B Monday 19 October we will be increasing the number of available Gym and Swim sessions
  • Organised Elite Sport at Malone, PEC and Boathouse will still take place
  • No indoor sport or organised contact sport involving mixing of households will take place this includes
    • All Group Exercise classes at the PEC and BT1 
    • All courses including Children's Swimming Lessons
    • All Student Club activities based at the PEC
    • All block and casual bookings (including 5aside) at the PEC and Upper Malone
  • W/B Monday 19 October we will be increasing the number of on-line classes 
  • Courses will be delivered online where possible

The above will apply Friday 16 October - Thursday 12 November inclusive.

Queen’s Sport FAQ’s

Q. How long will restrictions last?

A. Restrictions will apply Friday 16 October - Thursday 12 November inclusive with any updates being communicated if and when they arise.

Q. Will my membership be stopped or frozen automatically?

A. No as we will still be open and offering increased gym, swim and online classes memberships will continue as normal

Q. Can I freeze or cancel my membership?

A. Yes memberships can be frozen or cancelled as normal upon request. Please contact for more information. Please note if you wish to freeze your membership and you pay monthly by direct debit you must notify our membership team on or before Wednesday 21 October 2020.
Any staff members paying via salary deduction can also freeze and the effect of this will be seen in your November salary if request is received before 6th November.

Q. Will my membership rate change?

A. No, as we are still able to offer gym and pool access as well as online classes all memebrships will remain the same over this period

Q. Will my Student Club still be training?

A. No all student club activity (with the exception of elite sport) will stop. For more information follow this link Student Clubs and Societies

Q. Will there be refunds for Courses?

A. Members who are booked into any of our courses will receive an update communication regarding delivery of your course and options including refunds.

Q. Will there be additional Gym Sessions?

A. Yes Queen's Sport have added additional cardio and weights sessions this week and will add more sessions w/b 19 October.

Q. Will there be additional Group Exercise classes?

Yes we will be enhancing our online programme and delivering more daily classes via Zoom

Q. Will there be additional Swim Sessions if Swimming lessons have now been suspended?

A. Yes there will be additional swim sessions starting Friday 16 October

Q. Will I be able to book online classes + gym/pool sessions on the same day?

A. Yes, as there are no restrictions for registration to the online classes this does not count towards your daily booking limit

Q. I have a block booking will this stop?

A. Yes all bookings at both sites with the exception of elite sport will be suspended during this time. You will be contacted about this in due course
