Belfast International Games
Queen’s Sport is delighted to announce that the Belfast International Games (BIG) will once again be held at Queen’s PEC! Organised by PPI Belfast, the Indonesian Student Association in Northern Ireland, this vibrant multi-sport competition will bring together over 150 international student-athletes from across Belfast to compete in basketball, football, and badminton. The 2024 Games mark a significant second year for the international sporting community in Belfast.
BIG 2024 will kick off on Saturday, 9 November, with the football competition leading the event. Featuring teams that represent a variety of nations and cultures, the games aim to promote unity, athletic excellence, and mutual respect among people from diverse backgrounds. This two-week event will see nearly 30 teams competing in over 50 matches across three popular sports, giving athletes a platform to showcase their skills in front of enthusiastic supporters from Queen’s and the broader Belfast community.
This annual event exemplifies PPI Belfast's commitment to fostering inclusivity and building strong connections within Belfast’s international community. Beyond the sporting competition, the games provide a welcoming environment for students to connect outside of their studies.
BIG stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and rich diversity within Belfast's international student community, promising inspiring weekends filled with athleticism and cultural celebration.
