Queen’s Graduate James MacSorley Named in GB Squad for European Wheelchair Basketball Championships

Queen’s graduate and award-winning athlete James MacSorley has been named in the Great Britain men’s squad for the upcoming 2025 European Wheelchair Basketball Championships, taking place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina this month.

A former Spanish with Law student, James has represented Great Britain at the highest level of international wheelchair basketball, including the Paralympic Games and World Championships. His latest selection adds to an already distinguished sporting career and highlights his ongoing commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

James, who was recognised as the Allstate NI Queen’s Graduate of the Year in 2023, continues to inspire future generations of student-athletes through his dedication, resilience, and sporting success.

The Great Britain men’s team head into the European Championships as reigning title holders, aiming to defend their unbeaten record from 2023.
