Our extensive range of social, recreational physical activities ensures that you have a wide variety of enjoyable activities to choose from. Our aim extends beyond enhancing physical health, we're dedicated to nurturing your mental and emotional well-being. Queen's Sport are unwavering in our commitment to providing you with an exceptional student and staff experience during your time at Queen's. Irrespective of your athletic prowess or fitness level, the Active Campus programme caters to all. Through our three strands of Active Campus; Active Fitness, Active Wellbeing and Active Clubs, there is something for everyone. Whether you're challenging yourself with Couch 2 5k or take part in 5 a side football or engaging in taster sessions hosted by our 57 sports clubs tailored for beginners, rest assured there's something that will resonate with you.

"Move Your Way, Every Day"

In support of University Mental Health Day, Queen’s Sport, in partnership with QUBeWell, is launching Find Your Movement—an eight-week campaign designed to inspire students and staff to stay active in ways that work best for them.

 

Starting Thursday, 13 March, a new video will be released each week, highlighting accessible and enjoyable ways to move, including gardening, yoga, and walking.

Are you wanting to find a way to de-stress without having to leave the main campus site? Yoga U Roadshow is designed to bring our relaxing yoga classes to the main campus site.

 

Each week will be a different location which allows you to see different rooms around the university. In the class you will be led through progressive Yoga with modifications for all. It will challenge & increase your strength & flexibility, while focusing on relaxation & mindfulness. We cater for all levels & abilities in the class.

Course Finished

This 6-week programme is open to everyone on campus, including staff and students, and offers an exciting introduction to Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) football. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to refresh your skills, this welcoming programme is the perfect opportunity to learn the rules and basic techniques of GAA football.

 

 

Participants will not only gain hands-on experience with this unique Irish sport but will also explore Irish culture through the lens of the GAA. The programme concludes with a friendly match—an excellent chance to put your new skills into practice and enjoy the camaraderie of the game.

Active Lifestyle Programme
Get Started with Personalised Support and Activities

Queen’s Sport is excited to announce the relaunch of the Active Lifestyle Programme, dedicated to enhancing student mental health through physical activity.

Throughout the programme, an Exercise Referral Coordinator will provide personalised assistance to students during their 8-week journey. Participants can engage in a variety of interventions, including:

  • Personalised Confidence Building Gym Sessions
  • Group Exercise Classes
  • Access to Sports Clubs and Societies
  • Active Campus Initiatives such as the Couch to 5K Programme or Student Social Sport

Students interested in participating or seeking additional information can sign up by contacting Student Wellbeing Services or email the Active Lifestyle Team at activelifestyle@qub.ac.uk.
